Costa Rica
I live in Costa Rica, an amazing country where you can find natural beauty, peace, and tranquility, and it is a small country, but we have a large biodiversity and a lot of natural treasures, including beautiful beaches, mountains, and impressive volcanoes. Costa Rica has only 0.25% of the world’s landmass, but it contains 5% of the world’s biodiversity. Our motto is Pura Vida, which is more than just an expression, it’s a way of life, meaning that everything will be alright and that everything will work out, and it is used as a greeting, as a way of saying goodbye, as a way of saying thanks, and is a way of life. We have a lot of traditional food, some of the most important dishes being Gallo pinto, which is eaten for breakfast and is a mix of rice and beans, sometimes with fried eggs, sour cream, and sometimes with a side of avocado, while in the Guanacaste region we eat a lot of foods made out of corn, such as chorreadas, and in the Caribbean region the most popular food is rice and beans cooked with coconut milk. Costa Ricans are very friendly, we love to have tourists in our country, and we have a high respect for visitors, which is why tourism is one of the main sources of income in Costa Rica. Our favorite sport is soccer.
